I want to write windows software . I have worked with linux mostly till now. I have coded in python (created web applications using django) and I know c, c++ , scheme (sicp) . How is the development environment for windows? suggest books, resources etc.. Thanks for listening
Microsoft hates C, and Sepples is a clusterfuck on any operating system. Python and Scheme both work pretty much the same on Windows as on Linux. C# is basically Python with C-like syntax, though you wouldn't know it from the shit code that Indian code monkeys who really only know Java write.

I want to clarify, I *need* to learn to develop applications. learning this will open up a lot of opportunities for me.
Download Visual Studio and go with the flow? You probably already know MVC, which is about what you do with any GUI app in almost any language and toolkit. You'll probably end up using C# down this route.
Alternatively, learn Qt, shit's cross-platform and adapts convincingly to its host OS's look and feel, though there'll be details which give it away. Still, more than worth a try, even though you'll most likely find yourself writing Sepples.

It's easy as shit if you use C# and .NET. All of the Microsoft APIs have a C++ interface. Most ENTERPRISE developers eschew C, so they don't even bother updating their consumer C compiler. You shouldn't even bother using the C Windows API. If C# is too slow, you can always write the bottlenecks in C and call it from C# as a dll, which is not so easy to do in Jabba.
Best option hands down under windows is to use Visual Studio (Free version is fine) and C# to hack out shit. Don't bother with C under windows. Lots of people will tell you to use Java. Don't avoid Java and Java programmers like the plague.
>>1 I don't think you have ever programmed anything for Linux, in C++ or Scheme, or have read SICP. Enjoy your $2/hour sweatshop, Radjabamahar Chandrakebab.

Racism is hatred for certain groups of humans based on their ancestry (e. g. anti-White racism). How is mocking populations of human-like apes racist?

I'd rather not play games, not use adobe software, not use Microsoft .NET, not use Microsoft Office, not use Microsoft Internet Explorer, not use Microsoft Silverlight, and break idiotic software patents laws rather than giving up my privacy and freedom.

I don't care. Windows is my arcade. Everyone uses it and everyone writes software for it, often exclusively. Shit just works. Windows respects my time. All the programming environments I could care to use run on Windows.
I'll boot Linux when I want. Occasionally it's useful. But most of the time I use Windows.
