Contracting gigs that aren't webdev?

Tried CL but all the postings are for web stuff. I'm somewhat sick of writing markup and would love to write something else even if it's java, sepples or python.

Why would you want to stick anything in the throat of users for your own fun as a programmer? Users will simply "ignore that shit" as a natural defense.

If you build the most amazing webapp ever and ask the visitor to downlad a non-gnu alternative to some obscure dialect of some obscure language, do you really expect anyone to think more than a second before clicking back?
Maybe two /prog/tards on the entire web would take a look, and recalling that nobody ever tried Symta, I wouldn't count on it.
