Okay, fagshit, let's have it.
Sex is a biological thing; you are born male with a dick and two hairy balls and you will always be male, no matter how many operations and hormonal injections you inflict upon yourself; your appearance may change, but your DNA will always say otherwise.
Gender, however, is a social bullshit thing, and it's really about what you look and behave like. That's where the concepts of femininity and masculinity (the two things I loathe most) come in; someone who looks and behaves sufficiently femininely is a woman, and someone who looks and behaves sufficiently masculinely is a man. The moment this all becomes a problem is when people start telling other people how they should behave depending on their sex (according to the corresponding gender). Females can't do maths (because the corresponding gender, ``woman'', stereotypically sucks at maths), males must be cocky illogical pieces of shit (because that's what the ``man'' gender dictates), etc.
If gender identity is such a nuanced thing, why does it adhere so strictly to the male/female binary that is so closely tied to biological sex?
Because people are assigned gender according to their sex, and they don't know any better.
If anything, I don't understand transsexuals. They
understand the difference between sex and gender, they
know that gender is nothing but an arbitrary set of attributes and behaviours to abide by, yet they willingly
desire to have a specific gender.
Fuck gender and fuck telling people what to do.
