How do I keep myself away from it? Is there a way to block it in iptables and set it to unblock after four weeks with cron? Maybe some cryptowizardry I can't undo before then?

I think the only way would be to configure your settings, set the root password to a random string you don't record, and then set a cron job to restore the old settings and reset the root password to the one you know. You should probably verify that your method for resetting the root password works before trying this...

Why does everyone always suggest shit like this, when you can just simply reinstall your OS. Even >>2 is a better solution, or would be, if moot didn't make it so that you can now browse the boards even while banned. Sure you can change IP but you can get that one banned too.

More like he has a dynamic IP. Whenever I tether from my phone I get year old bans that last about a minute.

I just use a browser extension to block myself if I need to get work done. Of course, it takes exactly five seconds to turn it off, but sometimes those five seconds are enough time to regain my self-control.
