I have been thinking for a long time, yet I cannot discover wether there is a prime number that is greater than all the others. What do you think?

Saying that there is an infinite number of primes is not the same thing as saying there is no largest prime.
``There is no largest prime'' is a true statement and completely valid and provable under finitistic mathematics as defined by algebraic topology: a semi-ring representing the natural numbers. ``There are infinite number of primes'' is a false statement under rigorous finitistic mathematics (the only kind which is worth considering as realistic), although informally the word "infinite" could be interpreted as a metaphor for a non-halting recursive process that generates prime numbers.
