Didn't start programming seriously until 17

Obviously no 12 year old can do hard math and CS
So in a sense I got something out of it, using variables, reasoning through problems

But it really depends on how hard you study and at what ages
Programming was so on/off for me until college that I never learned more than what I needed to write simple games and websites
