no. the whole of computing is a pretty good counter argument to ayn's rand philosophy.
1.open source has increased the utility and value of computers a thousand times over and it is done for free, without any expectation of reward, out of a love of programming.
2. Software developers tend to be disproportionately against patents and IP. There is pretty big evidence that IP stifles progress.
3. Intuition and Aesthetics are valued over reason and objective analysis. Good software falls out of simplicity, and well chosen abstractions, rather than rigorous proofs.
4. Romanticism and ideals are universally shunned in favor of getting shit done.
