So is Linux. Linus has said multiple times that he isn't a fan of GNU or rms, but he likes the GPL(v2).
You can easily run Linux without GNU. GNUtards just make it difficult and try to perpetuate the myth that you need a bunch of their applications, or you aren't running a ``full operating system''.
