programming friends

Name: Anonymous 2012-10-08 17:33

Do you guys have programming friends that you're able to bounce ideas off of or help you out if you're stuck? Or just someone to motivate you? Or are you alone with your computer?

Well, your friend is a scumbag.

One of my friends is a fellow programmer. We learn together and are actually making a game together too.

Hi!

I am a programmer and I am looking for a friend to program with, or more.

I'd totally be your friend, but I can't actually program.

Name: Anonymous 2012-10-08 18:21

>>7-8
I'd be your programmer friend, except I'm a terrible programmer and I lack social skills.

what are you working on or what do you want to work on? I would like to make some hentai html5 apps

I focus on machine learning and parallel computing. I know nothing about hentai and I've looked only once at html5 to make some shitty animated ouroboros.

thats why I left IRC and usenet and spend all my time on /g/, because the assholes on IRC are all about ego stroking and dont really talk about anything unless its related to their work

back to /g/, retard

Name: Anonymous 2012-10-08 20:56

I got some friends from College and work that are solid programmers and love to talk about code and logic. Problem Is there's a lot of retards at work that try to chime in on good conversations

Name: Anonymous 2012-10-08 21:37

I've got some bros that I can talk to, most of them are guys I was friends with in high school. Most of the brogrammers at my uni don't give a shit about programming, they are good at it, but have no passion for it, feels bad bro.

i have one programming friend, sadly he only knows php.

But it is helpful to have someone to explain your programming problems, most of the time just explaining the stuff to other person is enough to be illuminated

alone ;_;

I wish I weren't in phoenix
everyone here is retarded

I try to mentor my coworkers.  I have at least gotten a perspective on how others see programming (magic???) and what they want from the services they need help with (basic html shit or yet another php nightmare...).

I do employ one of my former coworkers for little gigs like setting up someone's Wordpress site or other tasks I have done a million times.  When I actually do programming work, google searches and textbooks are my friends.  At the very least, it puts my name out there so I can charge a ridiculous amount for a simple blog.

If you want programming friends, your best bet is through school or clubs.  There's a linux club that meets up in my city where they talk about their projects or whatever - definitely a mixed bunch of enthusiasts/nerds/coders.  Hackerspaces are good places to find competent people to talk to; one open house night gave me enough good advice to start my microcontroller work project.  You could also start a meetup yourself, which could turn into a 'meat'-up if you find some eager young women who need a little help with their python framework woes.

Ya I used to have a job with a lot of programmers, but that was 2 years ago, been alone since. going to go back to university though. I miss having peers.

why do you live in a bird

that's just weird, man

Name: Anonymous 2012-10-09 6:35

There's some kids in my computer science class that know some languages, I'm learning basic C++ but my friends only know C.

Name: Anonymous 2012-10-09 6:43

I live in SEA, don't have any prog friends IRL except maybe a Delphi fag. You're my only friends /prog/

Name: Anonymous 2012-10-09 7:26

You live in SEA and no one programs in C ? That's a shame.

Name: Anonymous 2012-10-09 10:10

My dad.

I hope that you stop spreading cancer. Since you did say good advice, I did not bark. I hope you do not leave in Texas. You read familiar.

>>et al.
I had to meta-shun all my friends, since I knew I was going to live a vagabond the rest of my life due to /prog/ jobs. My ideas come from turmoil and hardships, and how I wish to fix them. And my motivation is my vow to help humanity, because I know hardships all too well.

I love programming and I'm completely alone.
My focus is C and Bash Scripting, been doing for a few years. Also little games with ncurses.
I'd love to hear all about you guys' projects and preferences

So can we say that you live surrounded by SEA men?

Name: Anonymous 2012-10-09 19:34

Who knew PKWARE's competitor was still around.
