I used to hate Lisp, but LISPPER taught me better.
I used to hate feminism, but /prog/ enlightened me.
I used to hate dislike jews, but the shitspammer showed me how irrational discrimination is.

For that, /prog/, I thank thee.  You are the Bildungsroman of my life, and you have changed me into a better being.

My deepest gratitude,
[scrubbed]

Frozen Void taught me Its okay to be different. Kodak Gallery Programmer taught me to be myself and not care what anyone else thinks. Cudder taught me to do anything for that one person I love. Xarn taught me that life is hard but you can make it through. Xarn taught me not every guy is going to treat me right. tdavis taught me to always love the people around me. VIPPER taught me to live my life in peace. /prog/ taught me how to live.

/prog/ has taught me that javascript is decent but heavily hyped, lisp is god-tier, perl6 is a great toy, leah culver is the sexual fantasy of fat neckbeards, programmers are misogynists, php is shit, jews are shit (but jew pussy is ok) and public textboards are a bad idea.

Could you make a list of the posts (post ranges) that helped you most? If it's not too much to ask...

my inability to access /prog/ has taught me that my life is terrible and that I have become dependent on /prog/ for escapism. I enjoy the moments of enlightenment, and after being separated from academia, this is one of the few places where I can talk to another person about LISP. But my life likely wouldn't be so terrible if I invested more of my time in things that would come back to benefit me, rather than helping the handful of familiar strangers scattered around the globe that frequent this site understand things like continuations.

You must be the one who explained continuations to me.  Thank you, dear stranger.  You are awesome.

thank you. I suppose my problem isn't that I'm addicted to /prog/, but that my irl routine is meaningless and so I spend my free time doing something I consider meaningful, which is education.

That is quite similar to my situation; whenever my brain needs a break from whatever I'm busy doing (usually scholarly work), I come here and shitpost educate people.

If I ever get rich, I wish to thank you personally.  Could you please take the sha256 of a string only you know and post it here so I may identify you, if ever that happens?

You're going to send him $100, faggot?

If you define rich as ,,owning over $1e7 worth of stuff'', I could spare $2e5 for someone who helped me so much.  But then again, it probably won't happen anyway.  But you know, just in case.

that's ok. Just knowing that you enjoy the knowledge alone is enough. And I also believe that education should always be free for the student. But here's a string just for the heck of it.

You can try to crack it for fun if you want.

Sussman? Kike? [citation needed]

Don't give me the "his parents are jew XD" shit, that doesn't make you a kike.

Uh, how about you pick a string that is very unlikely to be cracked?

German (Süssmann): elaborated form of Suess, literally ‘sweet man’.Jewish (Ashkenazic): from the Yiddish personal name Zusman, literally ‘sweet man’.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Who_is_a_Jew
According to halakha a Jew by birth must be born to a Jewish mother. Halakha states that the mere acceptance of the principles and practices of Judaism does not make a person a Jew. However, those born Jewish do not lose that status because they cease to be observant Jews, even if they adopt the practices of another religion.

Also, note that hardcore antisemites consider Jew anyone who has Jewish ancestors.
