Java for console programs?

Sup /prog/. I have readed Head first. Java. But, there's a problem. I don't like making a GUIs. That just don't gibe me fun. So wat to do? Buy Thinking in Java and continue writing console programs in Java, or learn C? Halp!

Java lets you use standard output. Did ``Head First Java'' not teach you this? Did you not begin by printing ``hello, world'' to the console?
