I can tell you as I'm probably the only person you know who has practised 'autocannibalism' after the surgical removal of the head of my right radius whenI I was 14. I had fallen out of a tree and broken both arms. My left healed quickly as it was a simple 'colles' fracture, but my right needed a lot of work and eventually the head of the radius was removed.
I was an unusual boy. I collected skulls. I was used to boiling bones up. My Dad, an anaesthatist, knew the surgeon, Mr Austin. He gave me the head of my radius in a jar. I cleaned up my radius head and decided to eat the small amount of flesh which was attached to the bone. I'm sorry to disappoint but I cannot remember what it tasted like and there wasn't very much of it. Surgeons don't hack out loads of muscle when taking out unwanted bone.
I proceeded to wear the bone, once bleached with sodium perborate, around my neck as a pendant. I am still an unusual person, however, I've been vegetarian for the past 25 years, so my experimentation with weird meat is over.
