GvR van Rossum a feminist

Name: Anonymous 2012-09-21 21:11

I AM A FEMINIST. There. I stood on a chair and I said it. If you wonder why, read Caitlin Moran's excellent new feminist manifesto (http://www.amazon.com/How-Be-Woman-Caitlin-Moran/dp/0062124293).

Of course he is. How do you think he came up with the Forced Indentation Of Code? Obviously his dominatrix suggested it to him.

GVR confirmed for jew.

And I mean, come on, he's dutch...

It's true. I'm not a misogynist neckbeard who thinks ``feminist'' is a dirty word. And it's because that's such a rare stance in our fucking community that Gweedo felt the need to come out in favor of feminism.
If you want to whine about feeemales and how you can never get a date, go do it on /r/programming.

You don't understand yiddish subversionism of gentile cultural values feminism, and you don't understand /prog/.
Go back to /r/jidf/.

Dear /prog/,

Look what happens when you start mocking those brainwashed retards that call themselves feminists: >>13

This shit is probably a permanent addition to /prog/ now, are you happy with yourselves?

I don't mind. I do find your lack of spoiler tags around /prog/ disturbing and offensive, though. Just because /prog/ can't cast people off doesn't mean you're welcome here.

For fucks sake, /r/programming is the only decent part of Reddit left. Keep the Reddit drama within Reddit, preferably on one of the dedicated subreddits.

Why are you defending a subreddit, scum?

/r/programming is about Javashit and le cloud/startups. Last time I went there, it felt like Hacker News lite.

If it's so great, why don't you go the fuck back there?

Some misguided sentimental attachment to this shitty place, and amazement at how much less shitty it is than how I always knew it (i.e. since a little before Frozen Void stormed the place). Also, only here can one shitpost freely, pseudo Xarnite. So hax my anus and fuck off, ``faggot''.

>>33
Nice dubz.

That, by the way, does not make for a good programming forum on itself, before you trot out some stupid fucking argument about how free-for-all anonymity makes for superior discussion liberated by the trappings of reputation. Nobody should say that shit anymore after /prog/ rotted away completely late last year.

Besides, the obnoxious pseudo hipsterism of Node, Ruby, etc. is the least of the content these days, and the useless ``methodology'' posts fall off the frontpage quickly. Amid all that crap you find genuinely good posters like the academic-in-industry guy who knows all about Agda, Haskell and category/type-theory, or the old lispers with books to their names. Those are rare, though, but at least you find them regularly, unlike, say, here.

Hacker News, on the other hand, is a frozen void of actual technical discussion.

Xarn actually likes shitposting.

You don't understand /prog/ and you need to go back to the /r/leprogramming that you love so dearly, ``thanks''!

Whatever you say, ``oldfag''.

Name: Anonymous 2012-09-23 7:14

Nobody ``understands /prog/'' and you should all just shut the fuck upreflect on the subject. /prog/'s content is always at its best when the people here muster enough willpower to not troll themselves by arguing with shitposts (notice how I didn't say ``arguing with shitposters'': shitposts are a distributed entity that is carried on by potentially all /prog/ posters). It's then that we have a healthy balance between the interesting content and (at times funny) shitposts. It also helps when everybody here silently agrees not to flood the place with shit.

This is true. One of my very first posts on Hacker News was something critical of Randal Schwartz, who actually replied and managed to start a nice little flame war with me.

What strikes me about /r/programming is even though you have hipster Macfag Steve Jobs-wannabe ``Ruby hackers'', they actually prove themselves to be competent programmers who actually build things that others actually want to use. The only thing that has come out of /prog/ is /prog/scrape, which is actually inferior to my own CLI /prog/ browser. I've tried sharing my code here, but everybody seems to be struggling with their CS101 SEPPLES homework too much to understand any real, working code.

Not to say there aren't smart people on /prog/. There are. I just have a certain level of respect for people who actually get things done.

It's not finished. I've just clacked some Lisp functions to parse Shitchan's output. I still need to retrieve pages with wget. I will release it under a MIT Licence when I'm done though.

neckbeard who thinks ``feminist'' is a dirty word
Except that it is, and radical jew feminists did that to feminism, so if you want to support womens' fight for voting rights call it some other name from now on.
I am not opposed to equal opportunities for women (equal meaning equal, not quota-based), I am opposed to woman-centric universe made of lies, tyranny, paranoia and annoying loudmouth ugly bitches without sex life.

Name: Anonymous 2012-09-27 1:06

From that thread
Patriarchy is a bad thing because people are not equally represented at the highest levels of society, but it's also a subtle barrier for women in our daily lives. If there were more women leaders in the world, do you think there would be as much war?
What a fucking cunt

No, there would be a lot more of it.

Name: Anonymous 2012-09-27 3:15

If it's solely in the name of justice and equality, why don't you invite all third-world people to live in first-world countries? Why not just do away with border lines all together? Why stop at women, in first-world countries no less?

This speaking as a person living in a third-world country myself.
