Medium is irrelevant.

Cool story bro. I'll use them the next time I use Clojure.

Has he heard about http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MultiLisp ? Nothing new here. Move along.

Yes, it's not new. It is something of interest to Clojure users who don't know about MultiLisp.

Also, the talk is sooooo booooooring. It's like listening to some Hegelian-Marxist speech.

Parallelism in MultiLisp is achieved using futures, which are nothing like reducers.

Futures are included in clojure too, future/delay reside in the core lirbrary with an identical to MultiLisp semantics. He certainly has never heard about it.

how can it be, if reducers are a dumbed down version of futures? and they still fail on usual cons-pair lists, requiring some vector or tree-like structure.

if it's not a parallel graph machine, it's crap.

Name: Anonymous 2012-09-06 10:20

So reducers are to parallel arrays what streams are to sequential lists, right? And Rich Hickey just discovered that binary addition has associativity and commutativity?
