It involves software, in one southamerican country

Is not an algorithm or anything like this. It will use software to overcome the dominance of corporations over the people.

we haven't decided yet. personally, i want to use interpreted languages.

also, we are now thinking of a xml standard to share industrial production information. i think of FaoStat as an example. but suggestions are welcome.

Plain text: Creole markup

We have some funds coming our way. Not sure how many dollars, but we have an agreement with worker unions (on our country and possibly abroad), one NGO and some politicians. Damn, even some anarchists are interested. we don't expect anything from them anyway

They acknowledge that they need first a good source of raw data. So, our first task is to define the data sources.

I posted this thread after our first reunion with the leaders of one of those working unions. More meetings are expected next week.

We are not planning on having open source development, but the plans are to open source it later.

Our rationale is: NGO and social institutions are lame in terms of efficiency, compared with governemnt and private corporations. With custom software and wikis we intend to change that fact.

On a side note: I'm not a Zeitgeist fag, but i'm familiar with their message (i have a friend that is part of them). This "thing" we plan to build is similar in some ways to the "resource based system" they advocate.

"resource based system"
what kind of shit is that

The kind of void concepts you have to make up if you want to get money from NGOs and politicians.

I agree in part, but this is a real project, not an "internet" movement. I just pointing the similarities.

Also, you say is a void concept. And it is not, is just another way of planning that (hopefully) will allow the productive parts to connect directly to each other, allowing them to develop some kind of alternative market.

Is a very interesting issue. I've read recently about the project Cybersyn, that was developed in southamerica too in the 1970's, but ultimately failed because of political reasons. Anyway, it is an idea that has some real cybernetics grounds.

Neverthless, the real idea besides all this is improving efficiency and reaction speed of social institutions. All other considerations are just side effects.

Cybersyn
Now you're talking.

Don't change these.
