Let's make our own UNIX system. We can take the code of Linux and fork it. Then improve it.

We will sell it for $100

It will run in AMD64 processors only.

It will support multiple users.

It will support memory paging.

All memory for every process will be readable, writeable and executable.

It will have vim, but no EMACS.

It will be POSIX compilant.

It can run WINDOWS program using BOOZE compat layer (forked from WINE)

We will call it PENIX.

I think we should go with $99. The rest is okay.

I love you OP
Can we actually do this?

BSD licensed, of course.
I actually thought about forking a fully POSIX-compliant version of the Linux kernel a few days back.

Good luck with that.

>take the code of Linux and fork it
>BSD licensed
Ain't gonna happen

Why cripple it with POSIX-compliance and lack of Emacs?

There was no spiraling, just an explosion of exposition and then suddenly you were supposed to be sympathizing with her. After that the story didn't develop practically anywhere during the route. Maybe that exposition dump had some biased effect on some people after the nothingness of common route, but either way it was terrible story development.

I know the other topic's hanging on at page 13 at the moment, but I didn't want the wrong download link to show up on the first post, so here we go.

Don't change these.
