virtual speed-up

Name: Anonymous 2012-08-02 8:20

is there a way to make a virtual CPU that is faster than the CPU it runs on, or otherwise speed up indefinitely? what i want to be able to do is bruteforce huge search spaces in seconds.
inb4 there is no way. I know there is a way. I know a way can be made. i know a way will be made.

It assumes space to be continuous, and that quantum effects and gravity will not interfere, to make the lattices arbitrarily small. The rest is kind of like their right-accelerated TM: it differs from a Zeno machine because you have control over the acceleration. It's more ``plausible'' than the Zeno machine, but it's still wishful thinking and mathematical wanking. We don't even know whether spacetime is continuous or discrete, let alone leveraging the continuity, else we would've build a real computer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Real_computation) ages ago.
