The programmers dilemma

Name: Anonymous 2012-07-26 4:42

It's no secret that it's easy for even an entry level programmer to make $70-100k+ a year knowing the right languages. But the right languages aren't the ones we like. So why do we sit on our computers day after day on /prog/ talking about how much we love C and Lisp and how everything else is trash for the commoner scum? Those scum are making large sums of money writing code in Java, C#, and Javascript.

Who are truly the fools? Maybe it's time you and I picked up C++ and Java and looked for better jobs. I don't know about you guys, but I could use some dollar dollar bills yo.

Why the heck are you posting about this again then instead of going off and learning them and making your cash?

Name: Anonymous 2012-07-26 4:50

But Naughty Dog uses PLT-Scheme.

Protip: JS and C# might be gone in 10 years. Sepples and Java are on a decline, too. C will still be there in 10 to 20 years and Lisp will still be a niche but will also still be there.

WHAT PART OF AMERICA ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? BECAUSE, AS YOU PROBABLY KNOW, AMERICA IS A HUGE CONTINENT. FOR EXAMPLE, IN BOLIVIA THINGS ARE CHEAP.

Name: Anonymous 2012-07-26 14:59

...AND IN CHILE THEY ARE MORE EXPENSIVE

I was talking about the US. There are lots of 99c stores and fatfood restaurants everywhere.

Everybody know that there is nothing in latin america other than child hookers and tequila to buy.

And nobody lives in canada but lumberjacks and bears, both eating one another, so you cant buy shit there either.

Why do you put the greater than sign before incomplete sentences? Also, it's 下げて.

Name: Anonymous 2012-07-26 17:40

it takes at least 6+ years to become near fluent in a language...

Especially win32...learning all the api's....functions, classes...

You need to be really devoted...
