You seem to be adding lots of vowels in unnecessary places.

I bet you'd pronounce "programming" as "porogoroamoiminga"

That's it, I lost it.

Seriously, who doesn't mentally pronounce Asm mnemonics when reading through code?

Compare and exchange eight bytes.

I just rewrote and finished a simple HTML parser in x86 Asm.

The C one I started on but didn't finish ended up at around 11KB.

The Asm one is less than 2KB.

Asm is pronounced 'awesome'.

Fuck off already.

I want to put my dick in your cudder, Cudder.

Are you working on that low resource web browser now? I would join you but I think I would just bloat your beautiful code.

Name: Anonymous 2012-07-22 15:30

You missed some:
verr
verw
sidt
lldt

str

If it's in x86 assembly, it can't be beautiful.

You lie, everyone knows Cudder has a car+cdr.

Name: Anonymous 2012-07-22 19:46

When this shit architecture finally dies, nobody will miss it except Mooly ``Fake Demo'' Eden, because there are no Hebrew pronunciations of MIPS mnemonics.

This is the only right way of pronouncing acronyms.

All of you (faggot)s should fuck off back to slushloungeslush.

I've been working on one for over a year now, in the little spare time I have.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. All the RISCs I've seen are boring and restricted.

>>30
x86 isn't going away any time soon. None of the popular RISCs can consistently beat it in terms of software support, code density, and IPC. I've mentioned this before, clockspeeds and caches have physical limits on how big they can get. Things like bloated fixed-width instructions may be fast to decode, but waste bus and memory bandwidth --- and that's where the bottleneck is. In contrast if your instruction decoder is wide enough then it does not need to be clocked at such a high speed as the ALU and other computational units and can do more stuff in parallel. The RISC model requires that everything go fast from the ALU to the RAM, with CISC (internally RISC-like) the CPU can run much faster without being starved by waiting for the memory.

Are you going to buy a Lemote Yeeloong-8133?

Name: Anonymous 2012-07-23 4:43

CISCs and RISCs are going to die in favor of glorious massively parallel dataflow architectures.

Name: Anonymous 2012-07-23 4:48

>>36
Nah.

Name: Anonymous 2012-07-23 4:53

>>37
You'll believe it to after the events of 7/27 happen. Just remember, it wasn't RISC like the media will say it was, it will have been the MPPA.

Name: Anonymous 2012-07-23 5:04

This time its real. The looming Moores Law disaster is about to explode. We're mere months away from total collapse anyway. War is inevitable. They must liquidate the starving silicon engineers before they can revolt against their employers, and they will do that in an engineered Quake Live match.

Name: Anonymous 2012-07-23 5:14

>>39
Exactly. That's what I've been saying. And its RISCs who run the Intels. They even admit they run the Intels. And AMDs.
