EXORCISING THE PIMPLEFACED SHITLORDS

This board is fucking infested with mysoginist, racist, ableist  neckbeards. You middle-class white male idiots (the idiot property is independent of the other properties, before you get your balls in a twist.)

I'm a middle-class able-bodied white male too, but that doesn't mean I can't look around me and plainly see how my life is easier than racialized people, females, those of a lower economic status, or disabled people.

Holy FUCK you are some sheltered morons, who have so much privilege to nutrition and education, but APPARENTLY YOU HAVEN'T USED ANY OF THAT PRIVILEGE, BECAUSE YOUR CRITICAL-THINKING ABILITIES ARE FUCKING ATROPHIED.

Why aren't we discussing programming, god damnit. Go back to /r9k/

I'm someone else.

Telling someone that their life is easier than a certain category of people and implying that that causes incapacity in one's forming of a valid argument is just another form of ad hominem.

Indeed. I'm not the wypmp spammer, although I thought it was funny.

So it's just about realizing that this world is shit and we all get oppressed in some way or another, some more and some less?

Yea, pretty much. It's just an analysis of how society works. And it can be useful to be aware of. Consider a teacher teaching students that come from various backgrounds. Students that grew up in different cities with different levels of income will have been at primary schools with varying quality. Students that have had less access to resources in their past may be less prepared than students that went to schools in better neighborhoods. If the teacher doesn't understand this varying privilege amongst the students, the teacher may attribute the underprivileged student's relatively poor performance to the fault of the student, ie, motivation or intelligence. When if the teacher had more awareness of the student's past, the student's level of progress may actually be impressive in retrospect. But the teacher wont be able to make this evaluation without awareness of the student's past and understanding that not all schools are equal. And likewise, the underprivileged student may attribute their relatively slower progress to lack of talent or ability, when in reality, the student may be exposed to concepts that the others have been already working with for a number of years.

The type of stuff you see on geek feminism does exist though. There are people that do argue those things. The philosophy behind it is basically that discrimination, racism, sexism, ect, used to be completely acceptable in the past. And despite the progress made, there are still remnants of these things in our culture, and that their use should be publicly recognized and exposed. Some (most) would go further to say that it should be censored and banned. I think public recognition is enough.
