FOSS changes power dynamics. In proprietary software, the master remains in control of the software and so, they remain responsible to that software. The EULA of every proprietary program suggests they have no accountability anyway. In free software, the user becomes explicitly responsible for one's own computing. FOSS will not work as long as people choose to remain helpless as they do with proprietary software.
