Trying to use Scrollorama

I'm trying to figure out

ONLY for the "pin" feature, somehow that's the only one he didn't put in the code like the others.
I've been messing around with the code to figure out how it works and it keeps breaking when I remove all the content above the pinned area, then it stops pinning.
Anyone know why?
