Changing user agent makes internet faster!

Name: Anonymous 2012-05-09 5:29

Maybe one of yous programmer types can explain to me why if I change my user agent to one of say Win8 IE9 my searches and just regular page loadin' is or at least feels much faster?

My default is firefox 3.5 and XP pro.

Nothing else changes except the user agent.

What gives?

Maybe the sites you visit sniff the user agent and send you simpler CSS for your announced impairment.

This not even a troll. I'm being serious.

Obviously I'm missing something that's going on here - what is it?

Using IE9 over an older version of firefox is an impairment? Since when!?

Obviously, Micro$oft pays your ISP to throttle non-IE, non-Windows traffic. They are known for this kind of practices.

Seriously, WTF IS THIS ALL ABOOT, EH? If I use a chrome user agent google looks COMPLETELY DIFFERENT! Why do programmers do this? Can't we all just be treated the same?

No thanks! I just went there and it's broken with NoScript and RequestPolicy. Shitty web programmers strike again!
