It's that time of the month, folks. I feel like buying a replacement laptop, yet x86-grade power consumption and non-free BIOSes are quite a turn-down. Are there any cheap (under 600$), fast (comparable to, say, an Intel T3400), trustable (no binary blobs) laptop (screen size between 12 and 17 inches) computers out there? Availability of 6-cell battery also a requirement.
Probably not.

Buy a Lemote Yeelong.

Not very fast, screen size below 12 inch, battery only available in 3-cell format (netbooks are supposed to last very long on battery power), and fairly expensive for a netbook.

Non-free BIOS on any general purpose computer are the exception, not the standard. The Lemote Yeelong would be one of the two famous free bios computers (the other being the XO)
So, should I get an X60s or wait for the Yeeloong-8133 to be out? Are there any new players on the field? Are there any cool cheap Android tablets with no substantial non-free firmware (the tiny routine that copies the boot image from Flash to RAM and runs it doesn't count)?

I'd get the X60 because it's available today then the Yeelong 8133 when it comes out.

Why do /prog/rider ``faggots'' always talk about laptops and other prebuilts? Desktops are modular and cheaper for the same performance, not to mention they're easier to fix, upgrade, etc. Also, the cooling is much better. Discrete laptop HSFs are terrible!
