Yo fucktards.

Is this guy (http://thenewboston.org/tutorials.php) any any good in teaching (the fundamentals at least)
of programming or is it not worth anyone's time ?

It has only 15 tut videos on C, but 200 on C#. I mean wtf ? Isn't supposed C# to be very easy to learn ?

Yeah, i know you don't give a fuck.

C# is like C with OOP.

Duh.

The guy used to record all the tutorials himself, then he made enough money to where he could hire more tutors. Since then each series has around 200 videos, and are usually recorded by a guest.

If you need a video to learn a programming language then don't bother with programming.

Yeah, watching tutorials and reading books of a programming language is a stupid thing to do.

Only prayer to God can actually help you.

>>4 is actually right; programming video-tutorials are no good, first because they tend to be slow, second because there isn't much you can say and can't write about programming. If you start watching a series of videos it's likely that you'll get bored/distracted before the end, but even if you don't, you'll have accumulated less knowledge then you could have by reading a book. Now, about books, the most useful parts are the exercises; everything else is there just to give you the knowledge you need to solve all of the exercises without getting stuck.

Why not do both ?

Clearly, if you have to choose between books or vids, books are the sensible and best choice, but i see no harm in combining them.

Btw, some of the tutorials on the internet are much better than some programming teachers in schools/educational institutions.

the guy is pretty decent for getting up to the speed.

I agree that more writing and less talking is generally the way to go, but a video here and there just to break up the monotony can be good.  Show the application running and talk about it for a couple of minutes.

Who's the chick in his podcasts? Is that his girlfriend? She really seems to be obsessed with her abusive ex.
