i guess there are more java jobs for sure, but not sure how the pay compares.

C++ is almost entirely backwards compatible with C++. it is the absolute height of stupidity to learn C++ and not learn C. Its like trying to learn calculus but not learning to do simple arithmetic first.

Java is just a staticly typed VM language like we dont have enough VM languages already
