No one says Korea needs to become more "multicultural".

THREE children and a teacher were shot dead outside a Jewish school in Toulouse, southwestern France, in an attack which bore close similarities to two previous fatal shootings of French soldiers.

The gunman opened fire outside the Ozar Hatorah school in the Croix-Daurade neighbourhood of Toulouse at around 7.55am local time, shooting everything that moved and chasing terrified children indoors, before fleeing on a scooter.

"He shot at everything he could see, children and adults, and some children were chased into the school," local prosecutor Michel Valet said at the scene.

The dead were named as Jonathan Sandler, 30, his two sons Aryeh, three, and Gavriel Yissacher, six, Miriam Montenago, aged 10, Valet added.

Witnesses said Sandler died trying to shield his sons, that Miriam was the daughter of the director of the school and that the shooter had chased her into the school and grabbed her before finishing her off at close range.

Sandler was an Israeli-French dual citizen, originally from Jerusalem, a relative told AFP.
