Trying to learn Haskell; need some help.

I'm 1/4 into "Learn you a Haskell for a greater good" and I find that I still can't practically do anything with Haskell.

1. Is this normal?
2. Is there a faster approach out there?

Real World Haskell

Now that you brought that up. I actually was going through "Real World Haskell" before I began reading the current book and I was put off because the example source was outdated in more than three cases.

Is it still a good book to go through? Is there maybe a source with an update version?
