Why is /prog/ so shit?

This board is shit. It's like /g/ without desktop threads but worse. There are no serious threads or threads about programming worth reading. The worst part is that it's filled with spam all the time.

1) Was it always like this?
2) Are you satisfied with it?
3) Are mods satisfied with it?
4) Are there any mods?

I often pleasure myself while browsing /prog/, but not because of it. Correlation does not imply causation. I just fap whenever I feel like it. I'm not about to stop doing whatever it is I'm doing to fap. I can multitask.
