Firefox keeps bugs unpatched for over 9 years

To give an example, the annoying "FTP server 215 ... is currently unsupported" message. This lingers from the way the old Mozilla (pre-Firefox) recognized FTP listings.
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=202730
Unsupported FTP server "xxxxxxx" after login and SYST command
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=277827
Unsupported FTP server "ITRON embedded printer OS"
This bug was reported in 2003, with various duplicates since then. They know what's causing the problem. Somebody sent in a patch and they still haven't fixed it. They're more concerned with bumping up the version numbers than a few simple bug fixes.

What I do know is that you are choosing to act helpless by complaining about Mozilla's software rather than taking control over your own.
I have "taken control" already, by refusing to use the newer retarded versions of their product.

Nobody says writing software is easy. If you find it too difficult, you should ask someone for help.
I've been planning my own web browser for a long time. The other thread here about low-resource web browsers shows there are others with the same thoughts. Why there aren't more who want their browser to behave exactly as they want, disturbs me. Instead they fall into the stupid upgrade treadmill lusting for "newer" and get the wool pulled over their eyes by corporations (Mozilla is one) who just want to perpetuate their cycle of fleece-and-sell... even if you're not paying monetarily for their software you're paying with your freedom and sanity.
