This SICP book is a scam. The material is outdated and not presented properly. Who uses LISP now? The book doesn't say a thing about classes, OOP in general, and teaches useless abstract crap that won't even get you a job as a maintainer of a toy program. Substitution model? Seriously, do we have to deal with such obvious and automatic things? Also, what book devotes __five pages__ to explain race condition? Oh, and after the first three chapters it just gets boring and even more useless. They could try teaching actual assembler, and some LISP-machine abstraction instead.

I couldn't decide whether to read >>1 or >>2 first. I ended up reading the first two sentences of each, then writing this reply, now I'm moving on down the page.
