According to TIOBE index [http://www.tiobe.com/index.php/content/paperinfo/tpci/index.html] there is two times higher demand for Python programmers than for Ruby.

I would personally chose Python.

Seriously does not matter which one you learn. The hardest thing about any language is the concepts behind the actual syntax. I cracked down and learned java. After the relatively long process I learned php in a few weeks. Don't worry about the language just put your nose to grindstone and learn how to think like a programmer. If you already know a programming language and I writing this for nothing then fuck you.

Ruby and Python are like almost the same language dude.

Ruby at least has a proper object model instead of cheating with hashes.
