Javascript

Started learning Javascript, with the intention of learning PHP and SQL, then being an leet haxer.

Ive learned the basics from multiple sources, but ive come to the realization that all im able to do is reproduce the tutorial and learning material. What exactly should i do in order to "create" with javascript? Is it by itself useless, or will i find use in it when i learn other web languages?

Try writing a greasemonkey script that adds some shitty feature to /prog/, like changing the email field to default to sage or something. That's all Javascript's really used for is adding features to webpages.

some people use javascript in combination with html 5 as a write once, run everywhere language for apps. But I've heard that people hate it.

You can do some fun things with javascript. There are many limitations when it is running in the browser, for the sake of the security of the user of the browser, but you can still do some creative things with it.

javascript is what you get when you cherrypick features from other languages and fuck them up in the process, yet people think all these features are cool and innovative because they can't type "lexical closures" or "prototype oop" into google for superior prior art

Does that ``prior art'' run in my browser?

or if you want to see what kind of unholy mess it is to contort js to support some languages, they may well have js implementations

Don't change these.
