Escapism.
In our real lives, we are doomed to work with “industrial-grade” software, i.e. ridden with bugs, done in handicapped technology by incompetent programmers and led by pointy-haired bosses.
But the future lies with the proles: cool rockstar kids, playing with undergraduate-level technology, unaware of the gruesome depths of computer systems engineering.

I'm here because this is the only board on 4chan which is worse than /b/.
When I first started /prog/ I was a freshman in college taking Intro to C, and posted homework for help (LOLUMAD?)
Now I work 60+ hour weeks as a code monkey and laugh at the dumbass kids who still ask "durr wut language learn first? c++ or python? durr". Seriously, just start programming, it doesn't matter (as long as it isn't LISP).
My favorite part of /prog/ nowadays is dubs and binary trips, check 'em niggers.
because real life programmers suck big floppy donkey dick
they're more boring and lame than fish pussy
i guess i'm just not autistic enough to sit for 10 hours straight, without even getting up to piss or eat, and say that i love my job
/prog/rammers on the other hand, are true VIPPERs

LOL, why the fuck are you going to such a shit tier school
Inertia, from years before, hope that a few of the better poster might still be hanging around.
Too many things to list, example of [spoiler]/prog//spoiler]-related things that I like Lisp, C, assembly, ABSTRACT BULLSHITE(some compsci/computability theory topics), AI, but also low-level messes including hardware design.
Things I hate here? Not-so-subtle trolls and memespammers(expected responses, ...). Some bad homework threads. Not using code tags.
