Sometimes I wonder what /prog/ would be like if we were all a physical community in real life rather than just some board on the internet. Perhaps the town of /prog/sville could have some nice grassy hills where we could watch the sunset together while kids blow bubbles with those little soap kit things. The bubbles would be very pretty and pop into a million pieces. We could grow vegetables together and sit together in the evening and watch the time pass us by. I could make quilts and blankets for when we go on picnics. It would be nice if there was a lake or beach in /prog/sville. The sounds of the waves gently hitting the shore would be ever so soothing. And the sea gulls would sing their songs. The smell of the fresh sea air would be delightful. The weather would be nice, and the sun would be warm, but not too hot. Just right. And here in our town we could discuss Lisp and achieve satori.
Except really we'd sit in our underground bunkers masturbating to anime then crying when someone leeches all the bandwidth, but be too asocial to do anything about it. Eventually we would run out of food/energy/money and hang ourselves with those old Ethernet cables we never found a use for.
