ASCII

If you were to redesign the ASCII character set (7-bit), without regards for any standards based on it, what would you change?

I'd probably reduce the amount of control characters in the 0-31 range, get rid of \[/code], [code]_, and `, and add some useful chars like ×, ÷, ±, ≠, etc. to the default character range. Also, having [] and {} be next to each other would be neat.

might as well just use unicode

I would change it to EBCDIC.

I'D REMOVE THE LOWERCASE ALPHABET AND CALL IT GOOD.
