XBEEEEEEEEE

anyone know of a good c library for using xbee radios plugged into the usb->uart boards?
i found this one:

and it's pretty crap.
i also found the popular one written in java. but it has a fuckton of dependencies that i don't want to deal with.

i've looked a fair bit and have found maybe one or two more. but just wanna get some opinions before i jump head first.
