golang implementation

So I attempted to give google's (ok well...) go a try.

It promises cross-platform compatibility and tools to comfortably fetch libraries form gitgub and google code.
The ide available (liteide) seems straight forward.

But the whole package depends entirely on the GNU toolchain, including GCC! What would be the problem in implementing a language in itself and bootstrap it with ANSI C???

Oh the native implementation isn't really supported or full featured... what a waste!

Oh no you have to use some well tested and used software.

I have no problem with GNU on a Linux distri, but everywhere else it is just pain, and that probably only because I don't have to deal with it.

Is there something you can come up with that speaks against my suggestion?
