Programming is boring

Name: Anonymous 2012-01-28 23:52

The better I get at programming the more boring it becomes. This is because the projects that require more experienced programming are all fucking retarded.

Doesn't anyone else miss when your greatest accomplishments were parsing through some files and picking out the lines you wanted? Simple data manipulation and analysis.

I was looking through the source code to wget and realized, I can't do this shit any longer.

Has anyone else overcome this mentality? Maybe switching to a different programming language or something?

Learn to work with abstractions. If you're going to learn a new language, make it a functional one.

wget is simple as fuck. Maybe you're just dumb.

if you can get through the dry parts, there are interesting things sometimes. I'm more into algorithms myself.

Look into theoretical stuff maybe?Or math in general.

Pick something challenging, use a language that doesn't have too much fluff, yet still attains decent performance.

Pick up some other hobbies. Seriously. If you're doing one thing all the time, it'll get boring fast.

Or just turn off the computer once in a while.

I contribute to open source projects. There are no end to the solvable problems that exist in open source projects.

Mostly because open source keeps creating problems by letting anyone contribute.

Cool story bro.

Don't change these.
