traditionally, webpages that have "click here to copy to clipboard" do it using a little flash embed because of poor browser support for system clipboard.

browser vendors/w3c are supposed to be working on a clipboard spec but last time i waded through the mailing list to check the status i despaired and turned away from the screen

javascript is the future btw

I like when websites try to append data to the clipboard. Like lyrics sites will add, "Read more at lyricsland.co!" if you try to copy something.

That's just a hidden div under the content. Nothing special.

(I do wish browsers would give me more control over which elements to copy.)
