I've read enough on how communism was initially implemented by Lenin and he had
v1.0 utopian communism where everything is communal/goverment(Didn't work quite well with product shortage)
v2.0 for NEP to allow some economic activity and production(China did this in the 80's too)
v3.0 which was after NEP, it was goverment owned system designed for industrial output without any real economic background(Entirely planned)
Obviously he can't be implementing them all so the real SU economy shifted to whatever was "allowed" with predictable results.

I don't mean the idea of Communism is unsound(like OOP is great idea in theory) but all its implementations(languages) naturally come very far from the abstract idea(Classes are quite similar to classification of communism, does member belongs of class "bourgeois" or class "proletariat"? see,its reducible to simple OOP abstraction and predictable methods for dealing with both, and the trend to classify/methodize the people as objects in the economic system) so the real world procedural paradigm(Capitalism: where the people are treated according to a pattern or procedure which can be altered without compromising the paradigm(unlike OOP example where its statically assigned methods and classes forming a pyramid)) outperforms (by quality of life) any Communism because it allows the freedoms communism restricts(by making the structure part of the process) to optimize its OOP model of ideal country(again worse-is-better wins here).

Personally, I think the nature of our society will change so much with the invention of AGI that it would not be recognizable from today's society (not that this means bad in any way, it would likely be much better), this is only based on the fact that AGI would likely crack molecular nanotechnology and possibly some form of mind substrate independence. The consequences of that will probably be the dominant/active political philosophy becoming some form of anarchism, but it will be too different from how it is regarded today as a lot of the limits just won't apply anymore: if nobody can be trivially coerced or killed, people will just work on what they are interested in, or what supports them, there would just be no need for a state as most of the functions that the state serves today would just be served by technology (some quite distributed, and thus there's no need for much centralization either). There would still be trade for basic resources (energy, matter, possibly useful information), but expansion into space would just be too easy, thus resources will be initially plentiful. Large groups of intelligent agents would still exist (what today is done by corporations or NGO or open source groups and so on), but they would merely be comprised in agents genuinely interested in accomplishing some particular goals (for example, maintaining the system, education, software/hardware development, etc).
