The Internet would quickly learn about such measures and if so, it would be greatly publicised from day 1. I sincerely doubt the US government has any hand in 4chan's downtime.

On /img/ someone posted a (allegedly) LulzSec release that its them(I'm sure its not, since LulzSec is very pro-chan since its formation)

Apparently they are quire different. I missed that detail.
LulzSec is not Anonymous(the hacker group) which is based on 4chan Anonymous(the cultural core group which spawned the Anonymous(hacker group)), they claim they're 2005 Anonymous(!) and that 2011 Anonymous is some " furry horde"(despite that 4chan still doesn't like furries).

found this posted on the internet...thought you fags would appreciate it..also lulzsec site is down to so guessing we got them back.
Friends across the internet:
We are Lulz Security, and we're back. Today, November 13 2011, is a big day for us. We successfully completed a DDoS attack on 4chan.org, one of the top 1000 most visited sites in the United States and the world!
This attack not only shows how strong the new Lulzsec is, but the capability we have. With a botnet that can take a site with so much bandwidth such as 4chan down, Lulzsec has so much potential for some epic lulz in the future. Stay tuned!
Anonymous is filthy and disgusting, VIPPER is strong and pure.
Do no longer smear this place with the shit of 4chan hipsters, become VIPPER, accept the VIP QUALITY as the only way to live and post.
Moot could ask his ISP make a UDP block on all ports(i assume that since 99% of ddosing is usually in UDP) on all packets coming into his chan block(it wouldn't do any harm since UDP isn't used normally, and people pinging/tracerting 4chan could do it with http) so his server wouldn't have to deal with blocking it. (i am getting quite annoyed too since i can't browse /c/ or /e/ anymore)

I'm assuming you're using an ABCDEF keyboard, you must mean /b/ and /d/!

/b/ has some nice furry threads(not gay furry ones) once a month, but its not worth visiting on a daily basis.
/d/ is filled with borderline horror movie material and dickgirls, both of which i don't find appealing at all, so i don't visit it.

UDP attack for sure. I managed to get one post in a few minutes ago. Maybe things are looking up?

I hear the initial call for attack came from an obscure bastardchan.

I don't really care who's doing it, I'm tired. Moot, go get some soup. Take a break buddy. This fucker needs to be down for a day or two. It'll get rid of a bunch of butt-tards for a week or so.
You havent got a fucking clue what you are talking about have you?
You are the typical twat that is a wannabe hacker so you learn a little bit about networks and then throw around a few words like UDP and pretend to know what is happening.
Please read up on DOS and DDOS attacks and you will realise how ridiculous you are

I have a pretty clear picture:
1.someone has alot of computers
2.they send alot of UDP packets
3.Moot can't block UDP packets better than his upstream provider
4.blocking UDP entirely will fix it

talking out of your arse is not the same as having a pretty clear picture
