Programming

I'm tired of waiting, reading and posting on /prague/.

I want to do some fucking programming, I want to write some fucking code.

This is what I need,
- A great programming language.
- A fun and interesting project to work on.

If you have any suggestion for the two, please post in this thread.

Expect a trillion answers from List/Python/PHP/C/sepples/etc fanbois. Expect nothing actually useful.

As long as you don't say "useful"... ;-)

So why isn't lisp at the top of this list:

I thought it was supposed to be a good language for AI, yet that list is dominated by Java, C++ and Python.

Make some stupid organisation tool or some web service like "remember the milk". Call that "get your shit together" and post a link on Faggot News.

We have an artist that grabs programming by the neck and drags it to its apex, if that counts.

Learn a bit about computer architecture and write a simple virtual machine.

Use a C based language and because.

Map a sound file to an OpenGL plane thing, and then perform geometry operations then put it back into a soundfile. I plan to do something like this to have a new way of looking at audio editing, and possibly include 3d data, like either multiple channels mixing via 3d methods, or having other info besides amplitude to maybe get a better picture of why things sound a certain way.

Don't change these.
