I am looking for a good introduction to the subject of AI. I have heard of the Stanford AI class but I'd really like to progress at my own pace and so prefer a book. Can you please recommend me one?

What do you have against AIAMA?
You can also use M.I.T iCampus for 6.034 and study at your own pace.
