is sleeping like GC?

Name: Anonymous 2011-10-28 6:01

all high level creatures seem to require sleep. it might not be  exactly the same as GC, but is definitely some kind of automatic memory management.

how do you feel about spending one third of your lifetime doing GC?

implying.

You can't just make guesses like this, back your claim up with some research.

I think it's mainly the analysis of data in my short term cache. Data that isn't needed is GCed sure,  but then some data is placed into the long term storage.

oh god, and it's "stop the world" GC, the worst kind!

Sleeping is related to creation of long-term memory links based on shortterm ones. But the brain itself is purely functional, meaning it retains everything longterm. And there is no way it can GC itself.

Don't change these.
