Indie game development has been cancerized with Flash and XNA. I don't have any respect for the users of such crappy technologies.
There's a reason why serious projects (e.g. Dwarf Fortress, Touhou, Minecraft) don't use them.

The problem with the popular indie games today (Super Meat Boy, Braid, Limbo, Minecraft etc) is that their makers have this unwarranted superiority complex when they make simplified, ugly version of games we've had for years now. Super Meat Boy, Braid and Limbo aren't even as good as the original Super Mario Brothers. And Minecraft is for the autistic. I mean you're a grown man playing with (virtual) legos it's time you try something more complex.

And Minecraft is for the autistic.
Minecraft is a clone of old Amiga game, called Diggers. But Diggers was fun (only retarded AI spoils it) and Minecraft is dull and has no gameplay.

It has ``gameplay'', whatever that means, it's just that it's terrible. You just fucking stack blocks. You can make some pretty cool looking stuff but then you have to ask yourself why you didn't make a pretty picture in Photoshop instead?

You'd be surprised how many games you can make from balls of offal.

Isn't this just what "Ludumdare" has been doing for many years?  Maybe that's what OP's link is, but I refuse to click it.
