Those with short ones are rough, and those with long ones are carefree.

It means that people using low-level languages have small ones.

Assembler languages were invented by americans.

The same kind of gun-toting americans who driver hummers.

Go figure.

Americans invented Lisp, Forth and Smalltalk
Europeans invented Algol, Pascal and C++
Asians invented monkeycoding

Name: Anonymous 2011-10-20 21:22

Apart from smalltalk, americans seem unable to invent any useful programming language.

Forth = abstract bullshite
Lisp = autismal bullshite
Java = bloated (also slow as fuck) bullshite
visualbasic = retarded bullshite
c# = pretentious bullshite
javascript = java for idiots
xul = because XML was clearly not obfuscated enough yet
cobol = because fuck usability
fortran = because math is the greatest thing ever, rite guiz?
rexx = because it's so difficult to decide whether to use a scriptinglanguage or a systemlanguage. so the most logical step would be to merge both, rite?
batch script = just who the fuck needs subroutines anyway?

also, hilarious anecdote follows.

When C++ folks say "C/C++" instead of just "C++", all the C autists blubber C++ IS AN ABOMINATION! HOW DARE YOU TO NAME IT IN THE SAME SENTENCE AS THE HOLY GODGIVEN RELIQUE THAT IS WELLKNOWN UPON HUMANKIND AS "C"!!!111oneone.

But as soon as C++ folks say that C++ is better than C (which is a wellknown fact), all the C autists have an autism seizure and scream OHMAIGOD BUT C++ IS JUST C WITH CLASSES HERPDERPDERP.

Oh and the hilarious part about it? C was invented by 'murrikans, while C++ was invented by europeans.

>C++ is better than C (which is a wellknown fact)
*facepalm*
there are LOTS of reasons to use C over C++. The fact that the design of C++ is [b][i]retarded[i][b] (http://yosefk.com/c++fqa/) is the least of them, because at least you can (and should) ignore almost every feature of the language.

But the fact is, there are only a handful of C++ compilers and there probably won't ever be more because the language standard is too retarded and complex. So you need C for embedded systems.

Saying C/C++ we also mean Java and C#.

C was invented by 'murrikans, while C++ was invented by europeans.
Nope. Both are based on Algol and have no original ideas.

Good low-level languages: Assembly, C, Forth.
Good high-level languages: Common Lisp.

C
C stands for [C]rap.

Name: Anonymous 2011-10-21 6:59

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BLISS
was much better than C/C++ and had no stupid type system.

Also, love
keywords such as EQL for equality (as opposed to overloading the = symbol for the same purpose), GTR for Greater Than, and NEQ for not equal.
