With meditation you can go into programmer zen for 16 hour intervals, typing and munching on snack foods, going back and forth from compile error dumps to your code, jumping from line to line by directly addressing them and via regex, suspending and resuming processes via control-z and fg, and never moving from the lotus position, while your consciousness stays in a steady and peaceful state, never wearing down, and never deterring to frustration.

I don't know how serious you're being, but I know a lot of programmers who practice meditation. Can meditation actually help with programming?

Name: Anonymous 2011-10-18 0:21

>>15
Definitely. Meditation and focus will clear your mind and focus your mental power.

It can help, but you can't combine debugging and meditation, something that requires external attention or refocusing the point of view is not meditation, attaining state of "flow" is possible but that would be like writing on autopilot. Perhaps you think of writing something inspired by introspection during meditation?

Anything that helps you avoid frustration will help with programming. Programming, is just, incredibly frustrating.
