What Linux?

Hey all, I want to dual boot my computer with Linux.
I see so many different distro/versions, idk what to do.

Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Gentoo, Fedora, Red Hat, Debian, Slackware, Redmond etc...(i dont even)...

I was looking at ubuntu but ever since the 11.xx update all i hear is ppl bitch about unity.

Thinking of going with Ubuntu 10.04

I would much appreciate some input as to what flavour of Linux I should get.
