Job

I am looking for a new job, I have 5 years experience and I have a decent CV, I think I could get a job relatively easily. I am not in a rush to find a job, so I can take my time.

I just came from an interview at a company that makes a lot of money by speculation(of some sort) in the porn industry.

What I got from the interview is that their programmers are really medium level but the programming they do is very important. If I work for them, I think I would be one of their better programmers and in time I would occupy a good position in their small company.

Do you think I should give these guys(amateurs who got lucky, that's how I see them) a shot or should I keep looking? Do these companies survive in the industry? I mean, I am at an age where I need to start building a decent career, I don't have time to play anymore.

They buy, clean, and sell used condoms?

I would occupy a good position in their small company.
Occupy Wall Street instead!

Well that is  "position" but not a job. Pretty much a position for a "bottom" too.

You should give it a shot if you think you'll be happy there, who are we to judge that?
Personally I've found that having technically competent co-workers makes work a lot more enjoyable. Given the chance I'd choose to work with people I like and/or respect, both for the sake of happiness, and for personal development.

From what you say it sounds like you'd be a smart fish in a dumb pond. Not my thing, but maybe you enjoy having the upper hand and earning respect as the go-to guy.

No idea about the stability of this kind of enterprise. You should try gauging it at the interview by asking about their history and how they earn money.
If you want to build a career, also ask yourself what other companies you could jump to if this one crashes or you outgrow it.

Don't change these.
